Throughout 19 years of my life, I have never whole-heartedly walked into the rain to feel alive. To feel anything. To breathe and to find hope. In the first wash of rain, I closed my eyes and my heart sunk as the whiff of wind hit me in the cheeks. Cold. Glimpses of us kissing. An avalanche of all our happiest moments. Fragments of you beaming ear to ear. My heart rised again. The second wash of rain, and I could feel my heart buried in a bombardment of profound blankness. A state so foreign till the pain suddenly intensified. The sound of the rain, the wind clashing against everything in its way, it was calm amidst calamity. In that moment, hope was restored even for a day or two.
